For an initial assessment of your horse, or maintenance trimming, prior appointments can be organised.
Prepare a good two hours of time for an initial assessment - and your riding gear! Amongst other things we make a gait assessment, wanting to see the horse move freely in walk, trot and canter, then tacked and see the same, on both reins, whilst ridden (if the horse is rideable). You will be asked for exact information on your horses feed, living situation and the work he does, and any history that can be provided, including x-rays if relevant and available. The cost for an initial assessment is 60€, no matter how long we run over the initial two hours, and we usually do (this does not include a trim or travel costs). If the horse is suffering serious pathology´s or in an otherwise un-rideable condition then the assessment will be shorter and fees reduced accordingly. Trimming Fees; Initial hour of work - 35€ Subsequent hours working - 25€ 0,65€ per kilometer How does this work? If your horse is accustomed to standing on three legs and happy to do so quietly, it is quite possible two (or even 3) horses could be trimmed within one hour - cost 35€ plus travel. If it takes 1 and 1/2 hours, that´s 48€ plus travel. Two hours cost 60€ plus travel.etc etc. So two horses, one hour and 50km return journey equals 33,75 € per horse. If you are 100 km´s from me it costs 0,65€ x 200 km´s = 130€. If, for example, you have 4 horses together and it takes me 2 hours to trim them, it works out at only 47.50€ per horse. Of course, if you are nearer it is much cheaper! (50km´s from me, same scenario, 31.25€ per horse) |
Horses requiring remedial work for founder, laminitis, navicular issues, or any pathology disabling the horse from moving freely and correctly (less still, work or be ridden), will only be attended at our facilities. (After an initial assessment at it´s current residence)
We have proven time and again that horses benefit from the "whole horse protocol" service we provide. Hooves are dynamic, they are intelligent tissue. Having the horse under our professional eye, knowing exactly what and when is required to aid a speedy and correct recovery produces far quicker results, far better, than those assisted elsewhere. This is a science that is very much influenced by mother nature. There can be no exact time-table, graphs or charts. We have to respect the individual and how he/she decides to develop after suffering any degenerative hoof malady. As such the horse needs to be under our care 24/7 to assure s/he receives the correct treatment exactly when it is required. |
