HEALTHY HOOF, HEALTHY HORSE TESTIMONIALS

Hi Tracey
What a blessing it has been to find you.  I really thought I was giving my horses the best of everything, including their barefoot hoof care, until I saw your horses when I visited your yard.  I then realised the hooves of my horses were quite different.  You were so generous of your time to explain about your methods, which made it very clear the person I had trusted to trim my horses hooves clearly was not anywhere near as educated as you.  Knowing of all your competition wins, and trophies for best condition should have been testimonial enough to your work, but I foolishly believed someone who had been a farrier would be better qualified to work with my horses.  After all, all hoof care was entrusted to farriers for many years.
One year later and my horses are clearly mentally happier,  Physically they move like never before.  More fluid, with greater ease, our dressage scores have improved immensely.  Both of them have greatly improved top line, their backs having risen and the angle of their pelvis changed for the better.  New saddles was a shock to the budget, but I am so happy you pointed out the damage they were causing due to the fantastic improvements in my boys. I wish I could take you with us to France!   Marie F.P., Cádiz

I first met Tracey when she came to look at Curioso, my 8 year-old Spanish PRE. I had owned Curi for 3 years, of which I had only been able to ride him for about 18 months. He suffered a crack from the coronet going down to his shoes for all this time.

He had been through 3 years of remedial shoeing and all the supplements the farrier could sell me (!), at great cost in euros and lost time in his training.

I was at my wits end and already removed his shoes 6 months before a friend saw Tracey´s number on the sign outside her yard. I had looked into going shoeless and knew enough to know that Curi needed special care but, as you do. I listened to my farrier who had shod Curi the past 3 years and trusted he could trim as needed.

I rang Tracey, who came to see Curi, and was so relieved when she said she could help, but only at her yard. As I like to care for my own horse I was reluctant to move to a yard where I knew no one and Curi would be turned out 24 hours a day. He was stabled when I first purchased him and only out when he was being ridden. Very odd to me but that´s how they do it here. I moved him to another yard where he could be turned out all day, but to turn him out all the time was scary to me - but Curi loves it!

We have been with Tracey 3 and 1/2 years now and I would have to be dragged away. She puts all the horses first, natural care, how horses should live. Curi has gone from unrideable to competing in endurance, without shoes and bitless. He still has a way to go as he had so much internal damage and contraction in his heels and frogs. His bars where collapsed right in and he had white line separation. The cracks have never returned since they completely grew out about 3 years ago.

I can not thank Tracey enough for saving my fabulous horse. There was a time when I thought I would never ride him again - and he was only 8. Curi is now 11, going on 4 at times. Healthy, happy, sound and muddy! I can not praise Tracey and Francisco enough for the care of my horse, and all the others in their care, and their friendship. So, Thank you again, from Curioso & Jess F. Cádiz. (Curioso is still with us, 8 years from arrival!)

When I first set foot on EdV & met Tracey & felt her love & passion for horses I knew this is where we wanted to be. Yes she has her strong opinions :) but when it comes to knowledge & caring for horses No 1 our horse is thriving since he came to her & believe me he was a sad sore sight when he first came & nearly 2 yrs on that we have been at EdV we have seen horses come in conditions that I would never have believed could have been brought back to health & to see them thrive its been a wonder & a privilege to be there to witness it all & to be part of it ....this is one unselfish lady that her friends & the true lovers of animals are aware of her true colours. Dear Tracey

I am writing to you because I want to thank you for all the support you have given me, and for being such a wonderful person.

Having barefoot horses, but not being schooled in barefoot care nor having a professional at hand, I am struggling to keep my horses hooves sound.

I have read everything I could find on the subject but was extremely confused and shocked when I realised the big controversy of the subject. In my innocence I believed all barefoot people are one happy family, with only the horses best in mind. But I came to realise that, like in any other area of horse business, there was a lot of ego and fakes out there. When I found out about you, my hope was restored.

You approach horse health from all possible and impossible angles, always looking for solutions and better ways. From the beginning it was clear that you are driven by passion, and that you are not afraid to be different.

You gave me your time and wisdom, always approachable and with an open ear, never condemning me for my lack of knowledge. But what is outstanding most of all - is you lead by example.

I mean come on, anyone can try to convince me that his method is the best, the he and not the other guy, is the only one who knows. But - are they out there proofing every other day, that their horses are sound, competing in endurances races barefoot?

Both, as a person and as a professional, you are an inspiration to me and I am very greatful that you are out there! Dalal A. Galicia

I would like to say a big thank you to you for all the information and advice you have given me, we at ARCH the Andalucian Rescue Centre for Horses have had a couple of tricky cases with our horses/donkeys in the past and I have always come to you for help which I have to say has been spot on.

You are a fountain of knowledge, keep up the good work. Claire R. - A.R.C.H., Málaga

After 2 years of lameness I was going to sacrifice my stallion.  He completely lost form and temperament.  I was not convinced that going barefoot would resolve anything, but Tracey convinced me to try.  I didn´t see any changes for 3 or 4 months and Tracey had to keep telling me to be patient, that she was seeing changes I did not see.  Then about after 4 months my horse was walking sound again for the first time in 2 years.  Tracey told me he actually had the back legs worse than the hands because it was so long bad that the back had suffered more in trying to make the front more comfortable.  She say it will be maybe two years before he is completely right in his whole body, but he was now walking very much better than ever before.  I then took my horse home and he didn´t get any better and Tracey came and I had to admit that I had not followed the diet she told me and the stallion was not staying out much like she told me.  I made his diet right again and I put him out again and he immediately start to improve again.  I was never scared of a woman before!  But I realise Tracey was right to chastise me.  This lady knows what she says and it works.  Pepe, Manilva
